The flywheel on this Hardie-Tynes Corliss steam engine was really moving quickly when I took this photograph. I also shot a short video (1.1 MB, WMV format) of the flywheel in motion, for those who have never seen such a thing (the sound is quite loud in person). This particular steam engine was used by the Wrenn Brothers Lumber Company out of Siler City, NC, and was built in 1907.
