The lookout for Hanalei Valley is a terrific place to stop and take in the scenery. This fertile valley is one of several national wildlife refuges in Hawaii. Farmers are allowed to grow Taro on these lands, thanks to a cooperative program between the farmers and the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
